Who couldn't be happy about that?!

Spreading Good Health, Luck, and Happiness to You!

St. Patrick's Day is almost upon us!
Are you Irish? Even a little bit? I believe everyone is Irish on St. Patty's Day! Haha.
St. Patrick's Day is a wonderful day to spread good health, good luck, happiness, and love to everyone you meet (including yourself)! And it falls shortly after a solar eclipse (today, March 8) and a New moon (tomorrow, March 9). So, what does that mean?
It means that if you want those things listed above, now is a great time to set an intention and make a wish! Seriously. A new moon always brings new beginnings and an eclipse of the sun sheds light upon things that you no longer need in your life, so that you can remove them and make way for the new. So, start something new this week! Focus on yourself and your desires and make some magic!

Connecting with Pele and the Aloha Spirit

I had the privilege of spending 2.5 weeks in Hawaii with my sister. We visited Oahu, Kauai, the Big Island (also known as Hawaii), and Maui. My sole (and Soul’s!) purpose of visiting Hawaii was to find a place to live. Each of the islands hold a different energy, one that you can most easily feel and connect to upon landing on the tarmac.
To me, Oahu felt too rushed and hectic. It is, after all, the only island that has three major highways and the bustling city of Honolulu. I found poverty to be in every corner and the energy of the island felt too small for me. Peaceful, serene, and isolated are the only three words that come to mind when reminiscing about Kauai. It is known as the Garden Island for its lush green landscape and beautiful waterfalls. I instantly felt drawn to the land and the people there, but when looking out into the ocean I couldn’t help but feel slightly alone and bored. You cannot see any of the other islands from anywhere on Kauai, and because of that I felt I would not be able to last long there. The Big Island of Hawaii has an extremely strong energy (one that I will dive into a little further in this post). After two days of sight seeing, I felt horrible to admit that I wanted to be off that island quickly. While I am a strong individual, the anxiety of feeling like I would be swallowed up overcame me. It is not for me. And lastly there is Maui. Maui combines all of the energies from the islands and yet it is the one I connected most with. With a high spiritual vibration that I can match, I can easily see myself living there. It felt like home the moment the plane landed.
But one thing for certain about each of the islands is the presence of the Goddess, Pele and the Aloha spirit that is found within everyone and everything.  You can feel Pele’s presence everywhere throughout the state of Hawaii, however her domain resides on the Big Island and that is where you can feel her the most.  Originally from Tahiti, she and her siblings traveled south in search of new land and prospects. After quarreling with one of her sisters she settled upon the biggest island in the chain.
Possessing the power to create new land, Pele is known for her “volcanic” personality. She is impetuous, jealous, unpredictable, has a lusty nature, and is capable of sudden fury and great violence. Yet, at the same time, she can exude a gentle, loving, serene energy that you can feel throughout the forests and lush landscapes.  Upon landing at the Kona Airport on the west side of the island, I immediately felt her strong presence. As a fire sign (Go Sagittarians!) I expected myself to connect with her nature quite well. Despite the beauty of the surroundings and the people there I knew I was not meant to be there much longer. And it’s not that I would never shy away from that island ever again, but if I were to go back it would only be for a very short amount of time. But while I was there, I did visit the National Volcanoes Park and I did connect with her. She came to me in a blazing speed, dressed like a native Hawaiian woman in her late 30s/early 40s. Her hair, the color of the black lava rocks, swayed in the sunlight. She spoke directly and deliberately, explaining to me that I wouldn’t be living there – I wasn’t ready. But she would remotely work with me and help me once I decided which island to live on. I appreciated her frankness and thanked her for even connecting with me.
Underlying Pele’s presence throughout the island is the Aloha Spirit. The common meaning of Aloha is “hello,” “goodbye,” and “I love you.” In a deeper sense it means “universal love.” It is the love for everyone and the embracing of all people, creatures, places, and things. It permeates the fundamental spirit of Hawaiian culture. You can see it, feel it, hear it, smell it, taste it, and sense it in every possible way. Think of it as like a tossed salad where the blend works well and creates a delightful mix of flavors, yet each individual cultural flavor remains unique. If we make these principles a part of our lives and optimize our health based on the application of these principles, we may undergo an inner transformation. And it is that transformation that everyone experiences when visiting Hawaii. There is just something about being there, talking with the people, eating their food, swimming in their waters, etc. that makes your Soul want to change. And it’s such an extraordinary thing to experience.
And I hope you will allow your Soul to experience that one day. Pay no attention to my personal feelings about the big island – it’s only my experience. You are meant to live through your own experiences while there. Allow Hawaii, Pele, and their Spirit to welcome you home.

Welcoming March

Spring is almost here! How excited are you? Even though we've had a fairly mild winter this year, I cannot wait for the new season to arrive! I love the color green (can you tell? most of this newsletter is green! haha), and I love flowers (especially lilacs!), and to hear the birds chirping in the trees, and everything else Spring has to offer. Let's make this upcoming season the best one yet!

ReSheeda and I will be attending an event in a couple of weeks, and check out the Oracle video below or some guidance.

Feeling Stressed or Depressed? Massage can Help!
Anxiety is defined as distress or uneasiness of the mind caused by fear of danger or
misfortune. Depression is defined as a condition of general emotional dejection and withdrawal; sadness greater and more prolonged than that warranted by any objective reason. And when someone is either depressed or anxious/stressed their brain sends signals to their muscles telling them to tighten up. This tension unfortunately causes pain and discomfort.

The number 1 benefit of Massage is relaxation.  A review of more than a dozen massage studies conducted by the Touch Research Institute at the University of Miami School of Medicine concludes that massage therapy relieves depression and anxiety by affecting the body's biochemistry. In a series of studies including about 500 men, women, and children with depression or stress problems, researchers measured the stress hormone Cortisol in participants before and immediately after massage and found that the therapy lowered levels by up to 53%. (Cortisol can drive up blood pressure and blood sugar levels and suppress the immune system.) Massage also increased serotonin and dopamine, neurotransmitters that help reduce depression.

Pretty cool, right? Schedule a massage to help you relax!
