Today's Oracle: Angels, Gods & Goddesses

My Angels, Gods, and Goddesses deck is absolutely beautiful! And I felt compelled to play with them today. In fact, when I picked them up off of the shelf I heard, "Yay!" So, I think there's going to be some wonderful messages given today.

I decided to pull three cards, and these are their messages:

Card 1 is the Angel of Addiction Healing. It states that this is a time of positive transformation and healing.

What I actually get from this card is not about addiction at all. In fact, it is about how now is the right time to open your eyes. Her eyes and the waves coming off of them tell me that your eyes need to be wide open. You need to see things more clearly. And the snakes around her face I consider to be temptation, lies, deceit, as well as the underlying truth. You know that saying, "Eyes Wide Open"? It's exactly that. You need to look past the rubbish and see the situation for what it really is.

Have you been feeling like you've been lied to? Is your intuition nagging you about something that just doesn't feel right? Please listen to it. That's why you have it. To give you a heads up. Open your eyes. It's time.

Card 2 is the Angel of Pleasure. It says to take pleasure in the things you do.

Which is so very true! Isn't it? Wouldn't it be nice to live in a world where everyone loved what they did? Some of us are fortunate, while the rest are still trying to find their way. Well, while you're trying to find your way, take pleasure in the simple things that you do. And only think of those things, those tasks, as you're doing them.

Like laundry, for instance. Only think about doing laundry as you're doing laundry. Don't be thinking about the week ahead, or the internet bill, or what you need to buy at the grocery store. When you focus on the task at hand, you become much more centered. And I feel that's what this card is trying to portray. And when you do solely focus on whatever it is that you're doing, your mind is at ease and you actually allow yourself to receive more. More wealth, more information, more prosperity, more opportunity. The list can go on forever.

P.S. The angel is holding a dish. Maybe it's food for the fish, or maybe it's a little extra money for herself. Take time to focus on yourself today and allow a gift to fall into your lap.

Card 3 is Angel of Communication. It says to Communicate clearly; don't be afraid to tell it like it is.

Please listen to that. It is some sound advice right there. You are in control. Of your own life, of your own destiny. No one can tell you what to do. Yes, they may "suggest" or "highly recommend," but only you know what is right for yourself. And while you're in control and telling it like it is, speak clearly. Say what you mean and mean what you say.

And I feel this has a lot to do with friendships. Lines of communication can easily get crossed/mixed, leaving one party confused and saddened. Try to think before you speak. In all of your dealings. When communication flows easily, everything else follows suit.

Side note: When I look at her, I hear soft music playing in the background of my mind. Do a little meditation on whatever it is that you want, and add some soft music to your background.

Marathon Training

Are you in the midst of training for a race or a marathon? Are you stretching properly, drinking lots of water, resting when you need to, and receiving a massage like you should?

Many of you don't realize the benefits you will receive when getting a massage (or 4, 5, or 6) during your training.  Sports massage has been used to treat pain, soreness, and stiffness associated with athletic injury and training, as well as for injury prevention.  It is believed to potentially increase blood flow to the muscles, decrease swelling, reduce muscle tension, and increase a sense of well-being.  Studies have shown that massage can reduce lactate levels in muscle, diminish delayed onset muscle soreness, and improve muscle function in certain settings.

That said, deep tissue massage is certainly not for everyone the week before the marathon.  If routine massage treatments have not been a part of your regular training regimen, it is not advisable to schedule any deep tissue work this close to the big day.  You are not familiar with how your body would respond, and it may adversely affect your taper.  In general, it is a good rule not to try anything new in the last week leading up to a marathon.

If you do schedule a massage within a week or two of the race, make sure to keep it semi-light—a relaxation therapeutic massage may be appropriate.  This would primarily serve as a psychological benefit to ease tension and stress, but don’t expect it to fix any injuries or muscle imbalances at that point.  Studies have shown that pre-race massage doesn’t necessarily improve muscle strength, flexibility, or endurance, but it can contribute to a positive mental outlook as race day approaches.
Before scheduling, seek out a licensed massage therapist with experience treating runners.  You can search for practices specializing in sports, clinical, or rehabilitation massage.  Also, let the therapist know that you are running the marathon on Sunday.

And when the race, or marathon, is all over, be sure to schedule a post-race massage! Your body will feel fatigued, possibly sore, and hopefully not injured.  Receiving a relaxing massage during the week after a race will help put you back in tip-top shape.

And in case you are wondering, our therapists at The Sacred Self are trained to massage athletes.  So, if you would like to add massage to your training regimen, please contact us for an appointment.  We would be more than happy to help you out!

Compassion and Harmony

This is the Angelic symbol for Compassion.  I got it tattooed on the inside of my right wrist in October of last year.  While it is admirable to express this kindness to others, it is also important to care for ourselves.  This symbol is a reminder to lighten up and lavish upon ourselves the same love and compassion as shown to others.  This is about balance.  I try to be compassionate about everything I do; talking, working, healing, being with others.

"Compassion is a way of life.  It connects the points in life.  It connects Heart and Soul.  It brings joy.  It is healing.  Compassion blends the layers.  It responds to touch.  It opens the heart.  It allows Love in.  Compassion for oneself and for others.  It realizes Truth.  It hears the Truth.  It unites.  It combines.  It brings people together.  It has much power.  Share compassion with yourself and others.  It will make a world of difference."

This is the Angelic symbol for Harmony.  This symbol is ideal for a work space or in a home.  If you're going to put it in your home, one of the best areas to do so would be right above the entrance.  It will bless your family and all of your guests.  As for your office, the same can apply.  It will bless and harmonize the energy of all of your clients and customers.

"Harmony is a beautiful balance in which all would benefit.  When things flow effortlessly in alignment and with grace, Beauty can abound.  No one is made less and no one rises above in superiority.  All are equal and complement one another.  Things are seamless as they fit together with ease as puzzle pieces.  Visualize how all mankind can elevate this experience by living harmoniously as it was meant to be.  Harmony is a key ingredient in bringing peace on Earth."

I felt compelled to write a little bit about Compassion and Harmony today.  And maybe it's because I know someone who has been having a rough week.  And for a moment, I felt I wasn't able to help him.  Or maybe it's because I have a friend who is going through a difficult relationship right now.  I listen and try to offer the best advice possible . . . when asked.  Quite honestly, I believe some people just cannot be helped, especially if they don't want to be.  But all I can do going forward is to be there; to show compassion.  And then hope that compassion turns into harmony for all involved.
